We all benefit when our infrastructure, housing and places of work are being invested in and developed. For that reason, we actively support the construction industry, making time to understand the challenges they face and the potential opportunities. One way we do this is our Construction Roundtable.
Research recently published by the Office for National Statistics suggested that productivity – as measured by construction output worker and construction output per hour – had improved little in the last 20 years. This has given rise to concerns over inefficiency and uncertainty in the industry. We gathered business leader from across the North to discuss this issue, asking whether these statistics provided a clear picture or whether there was more to the numbers.

The attached whitepaper is a summary of that discussion. Issues raised included the widening skills gap, a lack of shared knowledge and the cyclical nature of the construction industry.

Kaleida develops bespoke software solutions for a number of important construction firms. We see the industry’s success as a key factor in the overall health of the economy in the North.
The new roundtable will be held at the impressive Imperial War Museum North on Tuesday, 24th May. For full details and tickets, visit our event page here or contact marianna@kaleida.co.uk
