The Solution
First developed in 1997, the system has been continually enhanced by Kaleida and is currently utilised by 80 end users. The system is written in Visual FoxPro 5.0 with a Visual FoxPro database.
The Motorway Direct Admin System now integrates with two web applications, PolicyReg and WebSales, which are used for selling warranty and F&I products online. The Motorway Direct Admin System was designed to manage all aspects of the following car-related products:

- Batch Input: Used by data inputters to enter Policy information from paper application forms.
- Proposals: Used to manage all aspects of Insurance Policies including Policy Data Validation and Customer Postcode Lookup, Policy Pricing Checks, Policy Premium Breakdown Checks, Dealer Invoicing, Refunds, Cancellations & Credit Notes, Manual Data exports.
- Claims: Used to manage all aspects of Insurance Claims including Claim Validation in terms of what can be claimed and the value of the Claim, Claim Payment directly to the Customer or via the Repairer, Approved Repairer management.
- Utilities: Used to configure the Motorway Direct Admin System; Scheme & Policy Configuration and Pricing, Dealer Configuration and Pricing, Premium Breakdown and Underwriting Rules, User Configuration, Vehicle List management, Claim Component management, Manage Data Exports.
- Accounts: Used to manage the payment of Rep Commissions.
- Reports Suite: Used to produce predefined reports for all aspects of MI from Administration, Sales, Claims, Underwriting, Dealer Performance.
- Manual Imports: Used to import sales information electronically from dealers.
- WebSales Uploads: Converts and uploads third party telesales data to telesales WebSales sites.
