The Client
AA Warranty is the UK’s premier name for the provision of Warranty and F&I products to the motor industry. The company offers a range of insurance related products aimed at protecting motorists from all the unexpected costs of running a car.

The Solution
In 2003 Kaleida developed a web application, WebSales, to integrate with the AA Warranty Admin System and be used for selling AA Warranty products online to the public. The WebSales Web Application is written in ASP.NET using C# and a VB6 COM DLL for data access to a SQL 2000 Database. Replacing the old process of postal applications and laborious data input, WebSales offers the public online features such as postcode lookup, vehicle registration confirmation and credit card validation.

Key Features
WebSales is a Policy Registration system used by the public to electronically register the following Car related products:

  • Mechanical Breakdown Insurance
  • Breakdown Insurance
  • GAP Insurance
  • Tyre Insurance
  • MOT Insurance
  • Key Insurance
  • Loan Protection Insurance (Creditor)
  • Income Protection Insurance

The system improves the speed and accuracy of the registration process, and incorporates the following payment options:

  • Payment in full by Customer Credit/Debit Card via WorldPay
  • Payment funded over fixed term – deposit taken by Customer Credit/Debit Card via WorldPay, monthly installations taken by DD – bank account details verified by ALBACs Verify to reduce errors in payment collection
  • Payment monthly ongoing by DD – bank account details verified by ALBACs Verify to reduce errors in payment collection.

  • Customers & Vehicle Details are very accurate and complete – there are no issues with not being able to read Dealers‘ handwriting or in Dealers not supplying vital information
  • Direct Debit Details are verified – there are no delays caused by incorrect Bank Details being supplied
  • Policy Pricing is controlled/regulated by the system depending on the Vehicle Details entered.
